The 8th chapter - First Month Results

A whooping reduction in the Waist size from 39 inch. to 35.5 inch.

SYNOPSIS -

"I want a six pack or at least a washboard abs", the quintessential wish cry of the youth, nowadays. Our guy (the client) mouthed the same line with much alacrity! And we started...

FIRST IMPRESSIONS -

He is a classic case of the dual dosha Kapha-Pitta in Ayurveda. A glimpse of the shape of his nose and thick wavy hair and pat came the words, "Kapha body". And, he did admit
having frequent bouts of cold and cough, another mark of a Kapha pre-dominant body. The Pitta constituent was aggravating his shoulder inflammation that resulted in it's slow healing.

LIMITATIONS -

. Rotator cuff injury from playing a lot of cricket that lead to formation of scar tissue in the Supraspinatus.

. Un-healthy shift timings on the job.

METHOD - Due to the rotator cuff injury, I employed the SAM (Systemic and moderate) VEDAH form of training to get him closer to his dream ratios. A rigorous routine like RIG VEDAH might
ve aggravated the rotator cuff issue. Rubbing a cold shoulder isn't a favorite pastime of this young protege of a famous dance institute ;)

APPARATUS -

. Use herbs for regular bowel cleansing to eliminate toxins (Sanskrit name, Ama) from the GI tract. The body up-regulates fat accumulation in the subcutaneous and visceral region to store
toxins and hence, ensure that they don't leech out into the blood stream.

. Improve the resting metabolic rate (RMR). A Kapha reducing diet played that part well.

. Up-regulate bio-synthesis of co-enzyme Q10 by using Vitamin Bs in the body to enhance RMR.,

. Incorporate isometric workouts, body balancing postures, and a correct breathing pattern to alleviate shoulder pain and improve mobility.

Kudos to his infectious spirit! It spread, but he didn't, anymore... :)
