The 12th chapter - NEW MOM WITH OLD DREAMS

The VEDAH program shot up a few notches higher with this case. Restrictions replete, it was the case of a new mother who wanted to drop all the extra inches like a bad habit.
The biggest challenge was to ensure that she loses flab gradually and indulge in Only light workouts due to the fact that she was a nursing mother. Yeah, baby!
After 12 weeks, 7 kgs, and 7.5 inches were in hindsight, we exclaimed together, yeah babbyy!! :)

SYNOPSIS -

"Being an avid reader on the internet, I have read and tried almost everything under the fitness umbrella, but my wish to slim down remains a distant dream since my post teenage days. Biju, I have seen you doing wonders with my hubby and I want the exact same for me even although I am a nursing mother. If this program doesn't work for me, I call it Quits and might end up as a nagging wife! :)"
The VEDAH program folded her umbrella quietly and made her see a whole new world of possibilities and merit.

A mother was about to be reborn!

SCIENCE OF SIGNS -

A case of the dual dosha Pitta-Kapha in Ayurveda; the Pitta constituent aggravated inflammation inside her GI (gastrointestinal) tract (Nidana in Sanskrit), which lead to excess toxins (Ama in Sanskrit) inside her visceral organs
leading to fluid retention and migraine headaches.
Being a new mom and an untimely work shift lead to unhealthy dietary habits, which further aggravated the Pitta dosha inside her small intestine. The enraged Pitta (fire) influenced the body to accelerate Kapha dosha (water) as a preventive measure, which in turn lead to more mucous formation and fluid retention (swollen look).

LIMITATIONS -

Strangely, in these times her blood report was as clean as a puritan's conscience. A miracle! But, because of the deranged Pitta, she was suffering from heavy bouts of Migraine and symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

As a new mom, an erratic schedule was the order of the day.

METHOD -

. Alleviate GI tract inflammation by reducing the Pitta dosha and subsequent bowel cleansing to improve food absorption and assimilation.

. Alleviate the Kapha dosha to overcome issues with fluid retention and waist size.

. Activate the body to drain accumulated lymph into the lymph nodes by using specialized self massage techniques.

. Introduce basic lifestyle modifications and hacks.

APPARATUS -

. Use herbs like Triphala for regular bowel cleansing to eliminate toxins from the GI tract. The body up-regulates fat accumulation in the subcutaneous and visceral regions to store toxins and hence, ensure that they don't leech out into the blood stream.

. Use Organic Ghee along with Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera), Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia), and some other herbs to improve Liver metabolism, activate the Lymphatic drain, and purify the vitiated blood.

. Specialized Yoga asanas to improve metabolism and reduce Cortisol (stress) levels. A new mom's stress level can match the one inside a cryogenic rocket engine :)

. Improve the resting metabolic rate (RMR). A Pitta reducing diet played that part well.

. Up-regulate bio-synthesis of co-enzyme Q10 with Vit. B supplementation in the body to increase the RMR.

She is self-motivated; has that spark and is ready from the word, "Go"! Her buzz can put the zest in a kid to shame. Quite a dab at aerobics, zumba, and resistance training, she had the complete deck of cards and with slight adjustments (diet and lifestyle tweaks) she called a Poker.

She now knows the trick to control her migraine and is raring to take her training to the next level soon after the nursing period is over. May God fly her more strength!
